Parent/Volunteer Job Descriptions
Sunday School Teachers
Teachers may teach classes individually or with another co-teacher. All efforts are made to have at least two teachers per class, so you teach every other week. Lead children in provided lessons and take part in a teacher training meeting.
Sunday School Substitute Teachers
Fills in for Sunday School Teacher on an as-needed basis. List of substitute teachers is distributed to teachers. Teachers contacts substitutes when needed.
Principal
Staffs the Sunday School desk on Sunday morning. Collects and records attendance and offerings.
Sunday School Supply Chair
Checks classroom supplies at beginning of school year. Maintains supply room in orderly fashion.
Sunday School Opening Volunteer
Helps with Sunday School openings downstairs at the beginning of the Sunday School hours.
Curriculum Chair
Orders curriculum each semester and distributes to teachers in a timely fashion. Assists the Sunday school coordinator in other teaching material projects.
Special Events Helper
Provides parental help during special events such as Inter-generational Christmas Sunday School, Good Friday program, etc. This is a short-term, one day commitment.
First Communion Retreat Volunteer
Helps organize and implement First Communion retreat to be held in the winter for 3rd graders receiving instruction in Holy Communion.
4th Grade Family Retreat Volunteer
Helps organize and implement family retreat for 4th graders and their families.
5th & 6th Grade Retreat Volunteer
Helps organize and implement Community Building Retreat for 5th and 6th graders.
